Convertible top park position adjustment - missing nut

The convertible top of my 1994 car works perfectly except for one minor issue: when raising the top, it does not stop at the park position (about an inch before the top meets the windscreen frame). Instead, it comes to a contact and the hooks end up scraping the window frame. My idea was to adjust this by following the factory service manual's guidance.
There is a serious issue though: the manual says that there is an adjustment nut in the roof mechanism. In my car there is a fixed stud with nothing to adjust! How can this be and how do you adjust the park position in this case?
See https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap8ull0jCJtRi-ZfciVJr_qbV2SIfQ for a photo. On the left is a pic i took from the net. It is from a car with the adjustment nut in place. On the right is a photo of my roof. Both sides of my roof are identical: with the stud instead of the nut.
Thanks in advance for any ideas! Jouko
