In the past, I had a ‘79 900 EMS and an ‘85 900 S, both with sunroofs. I never had a problem with persistent leaks but as I recall a potential leak point might be the flexible foam gasket between the sunroof “pan” and the car roof. You can see the gasket around the entire edge with the sunroof open. Since you need to remove the headliner and sunroof assembly to replace the gasket, you might want to instead try to put some sealant over that gasket. It doesn’t show so you don’t have to be neat. On my ‘85 I also had a kink develop in one of the rear thin plastic drain tubes that prevented water from draining on that side. I replaced the kinked tube with a length of heater hose, by dropping the headliner on that side enough to get a hand in. All four drain tubes have to function or water can overflow the pan, especially when parked on a slope. Weird freezing rain in freezing temperatures can also cause a temporary leak, but that’s if the drain tubes freeze but it is still raining.
