Awesome story thanks for sharing. Just send me your parts I have that lathe you're looking for. Back to the oil thing for a minute couldn't we just add that zinc product to the motor oil in the transmissions and it work just as good? Speaking of old 96 saabs, A friend of mine was at the house tonight and we were talking about his 3 stroke Bull nose. What kind of information can you tell me on putting one of those back together. Apparently he has a couple of different motors and a couple of different transmissions. I'm good with the 900s and the 9000s I don't know anything about the old stuff. He really wants to get them up and running. I just don't know that I want to tackle something like that. He's trying to tell me there's only a handful of moving parts on one of those motors. Are parts easy to locate or source for that age of a car. From my experience I would not think so. Anything else that you could add would be great. I would really love to get a 3 stroke going. I just think that is probably not in the cards with things being the way they are as far as the age and parts being available. By the way the lathe is a South Bend 9" heavy from the forties. Just pick that up a couple of years ago. I didn't think that doing the little spot welding on that cluster gear shaft would work but it worked like a champ. I just Kept filling the low spot and turning it down until it was backup to the same diameter as the rest of the shaft. OK enough chatting. Let me know how the drive goes.
