I have 94 900 TC/CE, and it did the same things.1) Check that the AIC is clean, and not gummed
2) Check that the Throttle Body is not gummed up
3) Check the continuity and resistance of the +wire from the battery to the starter motor.
It is usually one of these three things, first clean out the AIC, then the TB, and if it does not help, it is most likely the battery cable.
