I threaded 3/16" cored alum rod into strait sections of the cast inlet and outlet ducts, same ID. Came in square, and ground flush at the bore, sealed with high temp loctite. Important to eliminate and stagnation or local velocity effects. Then used a calibrated industrial differential pressure gage (4 psi max range) to check the drop.
Measured drop was 1.44 psi, at what I figure was about 150 HP, around 9 psi boost at the moment. Stock IC is great for normal use, but way too restrictive for high flow/hp.
If switching from one synthetic oil to another, it's good practice to run a dino buffer batch between them. For the trans, I like 20W compressor oil (non-detergent), avoiding very high loads.
