Well, put the car up on lift/jackstands and check the rear bushings/axle links.
Also, notwithstanding a lot of stuff read on this board, Saab shocks DO detriorate in 30K miles...the issue has been whether it's enough to affect handling...it does. Stiff shocks tend to hold better/affect handling less as they deteriorate, but stuff accumulates. Bad ball joints, bent rear axles, bad alignment, etc.
Since you seem to be talking about more than one set of tires affecting the swing, unless you're using different brands/models of tires, the tires you're using CAN affect the handling of the car significantly. Sloppy sidewalls, high aspect ratios (70 vice 60 or 55) can give you a rubber band feeling. I ran Yokohama something or other for about 35K on my 87 900T and disliked them intensely...went through the entire suspension, shocks, rear bushings on links, etc., and finally changed out the tires for Michelin MXV4 tires (good price at Costco, but I'm having second thoughts there too!) which cured the problem...no sway. Not the best dry traction I've ever had, but much better than the Yokos.
So try a decent set of tires first, and get the car aligned!
