The AIC (I believe that's "Automatic Idle Controller?") has two hoses on it... one comes off the top of the intake manifold, as you can see in Dinger's great picture, and the other comes from just before the throttle butterfly. There's an electrical plug on top of the AIC, and it receives signals to open and close, allowing air to bypass around the butterfly when the throttle is closed (idling). If it sticks open, you've got a crummy idle.
I just cleaned mine yesterday, and it's not too difficult. A single 10mm bolt holds the clamp together which keeps it in place. Take the hoses off the bottom of it first, then undo the electrical plug on the top. To get that plug off, you have to squeeze a metal wire latch, then the plug pulls off. You'll see it when you examine it. Once the connector and hoses are off, loosen that 10mm bolt and the AIC will slide down out of the bracket.
Take some spray carb/ throttle body cleaner and spray it into the openings on the bottom, cleaning the valve. Then put it back on the car -- I generally like to attach the hoses and make sure the gizmo is sitting comfortably in the bracket before I re-tighten the mounting clamp and reattach the connector. That's all there is to it!
