i washed my black beauty this weekend and then decided to do a little wax job for winter as well. i have always used liquid turtle wax and have been pleased with the protection, just not the damn swirls when i'm done. well, i decided to try a little different approach this weekend so i went out and purchased some mother's original carnuba wax. kind of smells like candy (doesn't taste that good though). but i must say, this stuff worked great. went on with a damp rag, came off real easy once dry with a polishing rag, and the best part... no damn swirls. don't know if it was the wax, the polishing rags to remove it, my technique or what. i had the whole car waxed in about 1 and a half hours (and that's only 'cause i had to stop to take my wife to the pool). don't know much about how long it will last, but i wouldn't mind doing it once every couple of months knowing it will turn out this good with such little effort. anyway, thought you all should know, maybe it will help you too. i always dreaded waxing my car because of the effort involved, but now... so, if you are sick of the swirls, give this a shot. this isn't a sales pitch btw, just a helpful hint. i've just been pissed up until now because of the results. but now, i can still lift a beer can after/during the wax job. so, good luck.
