Another idle question... Posted by dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from dan) on Wed, 22 Nov 2000 02:13:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a fairly young '85 900T that I left with a friend for a year. In coming back, the car seems to have very little power though the boost gauge is getting maybe 1/3 into the yellow. That was all it did before and the car seemed to have the normal 900T boost. There is nothing now. I have checked for air leaks and soem of those easy things but having drummed anything up. ANy ideas? Suggestions?
Now, this idle deal is even more of a bother. The car will not stay running when first fired up. It takes quite a bit of warming for this to be overcome and then the idle is around 1500. I've tinkered some but am waiting for a friend to send be the idle bypass valve (or whatever y'all might call that brassy valve attatched near the hoist ring on the front of the head) and hope that is the solution, but really, I feel like I'm guesing this time. I though I remembered replacing that valve just before leaving the car, and I remember changing the air mass meter as well. Again, I've gone over it for vacuum leaks and such but of course I could have missed something.
I could really use some advice for the moment. If all y'all have any suggestions at all, please send 'em my way.
