I had the same cancer hit the two front doors on my 87 9000s. 5 years ago i had a body shop cut out the rust and weld new sheet metal in and paint. the rust last year reappeared. i finaly just found two good rust-free doors from an 88 and swapped them. glass, win. motors, latches and handles/lock cylinders. problem solved.
