OK, the CC stage 1 ecu upgrade works great. Now the car feels how SAAB should have made it in the first place..... Great driveablity and pulls very strongly from 1600 rpm to the red line. Freeway mileage unchanged 33MPG (US) @ 65 mph and 36 MPG @ 55 mph (average figures for about 100 miles each).
Sully, Alain - the hesitation is totally gone, not because of the ECU but after I cleaned and inverted the hooter valve (like Quasi). I just drove 350 miles and not even once did I notice it. So maybe, just maybe it is a flow instability (pressure wave) issue. While accelerating on light throttle, the pressure difference across the throttle plate will increase (no change in throttle angle) and may just force the hooter to open and that will again decrease the dP, force the hooter close. Compressor will increase the pressure before the throttle and there you go again. Just something to think about.
The full throttle power fluctuation is gone after the remapped ecu. @ 10F ambient it boosts half way into the red.
