Re: Rear seatbelt removal from quarter panels for fabri Posted by Gene N [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Rear seatbelt removal from quarter panels for fabric, Dan L, Tue, 22 Jan 2002 14:04:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To remove the panels, unbolt the seat belt anchor point underneath the bottom seat cushion. Flip up the seat cushion up and you will see the bolt. I can't remember if you have to take off the plastic slot cover on the panel to get the seat belt through the slot, but you will eventually have to remove the plastic piece if you want to cover the quarter panel. Turn the plastic slot cover sideways and feed it through the larger hole if you have to.
The little pal-nuts that hold the plastic slot cover on the quarter panel are trouble to get off. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry up the prongs to release the tension. To reuse the pal-nuts flatten them with a pair of pliers and push them back on the plastic pins.
Don't worry about the studs you broke off. The newly covered panel will fit snug without them.
