Actually Just recently I had an episode of unexplained "check engine" and a heavy smell in the cabin which I can only associate with Exhaust of some kind , obviously from the car but an odd smell just the same, can't figure it out yet, and last weekend on a long drive it happened again.
Now every day I get the smell but no engine light "yet".
The down pipe is fairly new as are the motor mounts, But I have a strange roar when under heavy acceleration. I think all this is closely related so as soon as the weather warms or the car breaks down I'll check it out.
BTW, I also have a bad heat shield on the Cat and if it is running hot from a crappy mixture, it could be causing the cooking smell, Just a thought from safe and warm in the house, Danged if I'm going out in the cold to check it further tonight.
The milage is better than average so I really don't suspect mixture to any great degree. CW
