I have installed an aftermarket keyless entry, which works fine on 4 doors, but can't get the trunk release function on the keyless system to work. I tapped into the following wires coming from passenger door connector under dash above hood release lever for trunk release:White (+12V), Purple (negative trunk release) Gray (alarm). Using two 5 pin relays (Relay 1 is trunk release, Relay 2 is alarm), Ran +12V white wire in parallel (tapped into it without splicing) to pins 86 (coil) on both relays. Connected purple trunk release wire (tapped into it without splicing) to pin 30 of Relay 1. Connected pin 87 of Relay 1 to ground. Cut alarm gray wire and placed wires across pins 87A and 30 of Relay 2 to maintain continuity. Believe gray wire is normally closed contacts and opens momentarily when trunk release is enabled. I connected the alarm module negative pulse output in parallel to pin 85 of Relay 1 and Pin 85 of Relay 2. When alarm sinks current, 12V across Relay 1, pins 85/86 closes contacts across pins 87/30 and opens normally closed contacts 87A/30 of Relay 2, signally alarm to disarm since trunk is opening with doors locked (system normally armed when doors are locked). I assumed trunk is negative polarity same as doors. TRUNK KEYLESS ENTRY WON"T WORK. If I ground Pin 85 (Keyless entry module input), trunk relase works, but can't get it to work with keyless entry module negative output pulse. I don't have a schematic. Based wire funtions on continuity from driver's door trunk relase switch to wires coming out of connector above hood release lever. I don't know if the keyless entry module cannot sink enough current to energize coil or if I have relay wiring screwed up. Any ideas very much appreciated.
