When replacing washer check valves, I looked up to inspect the serpentine belt on my 93 9000CSE. I saw what appears to be a sensor just flopping around near the belt. It looks like it has contacted the belt or pulley at some point, but it only has a small scuff mark.
It is still connected to a gray 2-pin connector just below the washer fill neck. The connector has a cable tie attachment point in the rubber shield just below the neck of the washer bottle.
The "sensor" consists of a cable with a brown and a black wire about 6 inches long, followed by a small hard black plastic grommet about 3/8" long, then about 1 1/4" of 6mm (about 1/4") diameter piece of black plastic. It looks like it should plug or pop into something.
This has been floating around underhood for an unknown period of time.
Hope that someone feels like checking out where this little mystery is supposed to go. Thank you for helping.
