Do you know how much that was shaved off on the cyl head.

You only have .5mm to go with in the beginning. Most times with a normal overheating you only need to remove about .25mm to make it flat again.

But I also know that the Saab dealer is really stingy about resurfacing heads and they try to sell you a new head if it's warped.

It could be that the Aero engine is pushing the envelope to begin with, and a radical resurface of head have taken it a step further.

I haven't done any Aero headjobs but several regular turbo heads and haven't had any problems except with one. That's why I'm interessted in your case.

I did an overheated LPT Turbo head on a 96 9K and the car have been back twice with the check engine light on. The faultcode is for misfire and the first time it came back I replaced the DI cassette and the plugs thinking it could have been damaged at the overheating.

The second time it came back, it was the same fault code but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I installed a softer plug this time(6 instead of 7 ) and poured a fuel injector cleaner in the tank, hoping it could be an injector clogging up.

It's 70 year old lady driving the car, but she drives it criss cross over America and it takes about 5000-7000 miles before the faultcode comes back so it's not to easy to fault trace.

And this car drives like a champ, you can't feel even a slight misfire and the acceleration is perfect for being an LPT.

In the back of my head is that lingering feeling that it could have something to do with the resurfaced head, because I remember that it was pretty badly warped, but since I haven't had any problems before I didn't think of discarding it and sell her a new head.

I'm looking forward to more info.
