Has anyone replaced the black plastic conduits for the hatchback wiring? I believe that the driver's side contains the light wiring. The passenger's side probably contains the defogger cable. Both of mine (1992 9K) are badly cracked. The wire going to my license plate light recently broke from flexing. I repaired that wire with a crip-connecter and rewrapped all the wires with tape.
I have tried various tapes, flexible plastic hose and metal springs to make a permanent repair - none lasted. I am now ready to buy replacement flex conduit pieces from the dealer. My questions is, what is the best way to get the wire thru the new conduit. I think that I should cut each wire, thread it thru the conduit and reconnect the wires with quality crip connectors. Does anyone have a better solution?
