As you probably know the Saab 9000 has a hydraulicaly actuated clutch. Two cylinders, master and slave, are integral parts of this system. With time these compponents can fail. This failure is normally recognized by mushy clutch pedal feel or other strange clutch behavior. If the master fails it does not leak, it just fails to push the hydraulic fluid eficiently. It is easy to replace and is relatively inexpensive.
If the slave cylinder fails you're in trouble. This means removing the transmission and installing a new slave. For reasons only known to SAAB the 9000's slave cylinder is located inside the the transmission bell housing. If your slave cylinder has died you might as well replace the clutch too. I did this repair last sumer (what a headache!) and noticed what might be your problem. There's a black plastic/rubber seal between the slave and the transmission. I've never head anyone mention it, but I think that this seal fails far more often than the slave cylinders themself fail. Its not a real big problem as long as your clutch continues to work, but if you noticed a smal puddle of brake fluid under the round part of your transmission, the degredation of this seal may be the source of your leak.
