the shifter on my 92 9000T 5-spd "moves" around in it's slot while driving. it doesn't pop out, it just isn't stationary. it seems to move around the most in 2nd, 3rd and 4th but especially in 3rd. it's done this every since i bought the car in Nov '00 with 121K on it. it's at about 143K now.

i was told that "they do that" and i do vaguely remember reading a car review where the journalist was a little unsettled that the shifter was moving around in his hand especially in $34K+ brand new luxury car.

shifts and drives fine (first is difficult sometimes but no more or less than any other saab 5-spd) and hasn't seem to have gotten any worse. although i have been noticing lately some uneveness when acceleration or decelerating (sp?) which i attributed to clutch jerkiness.

could it be the mounts? the upper and tranny mount are ok (tranny mount checked when i did the clutch) although i haven't checked the bottom mount yet.

tranny itself? (there is high speed 85+mph minor front end vibration that i haven't figured out yet)

any experience or help appreciated.
