I used a 1K resister between the center contact and the outer contacts to put a light load on the driver transisters so their function would show better on a multimeter and scope. Reading reading resistance betwen the outer contacts and ground will indicate if a transiter is shorted. The control is not trash if the BPC driver transister is toast.
