Nokian Hakka Q Questions

Just put on 4 195-65-15 Hakka Qs on my 93 9000CSE. I notice a marked decrease in handling, especially on the highway, 55+. The car really seems to wallow a lot. I didn't have this with the previous all season 205-60-15 tires. I realize that the snows have a taller sidewall, but I haven't experienced this amount of reduction in handling before with similar swaps. I am running the tires at 33 psi. I first suspected bad gauge, but I verified with a calibrated gauge.
Two Questions:
1. What pressures are others running with these (or similar) snow tires?
2. Prior to installing these tires, I noticed that there are literally thousands of rubber "hairs" coming out from all areas of the tread. These are about 1/32" in diameter and at least 3/8" long. I suspect that these are a result of venting inside the tire mold during manufacture. Could these be affecting the handling and should I wait until they rub off? The tires already have about 150 miles on them and the "hairs" do seem to be coming off, albeit slowly.
Any help would be appreciated.
