As mentioned before, very common problem on 9k. Usually a minor leak like your's. Rx is 5.5oz silver bottle of Bar's Leak in the coolant reservoir, or mix with coolant if replacing (as should be done every 2 years.) Follow instructions on bottle. Give it a few weeks to work, and treat again if necessary.

Check the things Anders suggests too!

Replacing heater core is a big job and costs $600 or more! Bar's leak is a virtual cure. Some here use it regardless of leaks, feeling it is a good leak preventative, and also lubes water pump and thermostat. Some have claimed radiator plugs with BL, but not clear wheather BL or other stop leak product. I think a strong case has been made for it's safety and effectiveness. Do a search on this board for past discussions if concerned.
