This last weekend I swapped out the old battery cables on my '87 9000 turbo. Initially the car started up beautifully. Later on in the week after turning the key the starter would crank for a second and then stop. This occured over and over, battery voltage was fine and eventually, I had to push start the car. Once the car started running things were ok.
The positive contact on the starter seems to allow the cable to pivot a little bit. I'm wondering if the positive supply cable were able to pivot up to the starter triggering contact (the wire that comes from the ignition key) would that short out the starter and cause the condition I've been noticing. I replaced the starter this fall with a rebuilt unit and whie it has a decent warranty I'd be surprised that if it had failed this soon.
I've also noticed that on the highway under full boost (well its probably only base boost - needle half-way through the red) the car will shudder a little bit. Is symptomatic of a fuel pump problem? Could there be a problem with the fuel pressure regulator? I just replaced the air flter, fuel filter, and hooter valve.
Any suggestions would be great.

Oh I think that new hoses to go between the intake manifold and fuel injectors can be obtained at http://hosetechniques.com/ , look under "Turbo Hose" - I'll bet they're cheaper than SAAB OEM hoses
