Electrical problem...

I have a problem with my 97 9000 cse Turbo. The headlights seem to decide if they want to be in high beam or low beam. I did have trouble with the four ways working but it stoped being a problem. Then my radio went on the blink. The radio will not play radio stations or weather stations. then the pictogram on the dash stayed on for teh rear lights, and I can't find any burnt bulbs. I took it to Quirk SAAB & Mercedes in Bangor Maine (and will never go back) They said that they couldn't even get the headlights to do anything but they said I neede a new swich for the fourways, and it isn't the switch. They also said that the radio was a seperate issue. I am ordering a used clarion because no one will replace the clarion with an after market stereo because of the HK system. I think that it is the Headlight realay swithes in the engine compartment. Also they told me that it could be an alternator and the altenator itself would cost over $700. But the voltage stays around 14v while i'm driving. The voltage is low when started, but I am in Maine in the winter where it gets a little cold. I alos checked to see if it was all grounded and it seems to be. If anyone can help or has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks.
