Alternator replacement cost?

Question: how much should a replacement 115 volt alternator cost and how much labor should be involved? Car is an 88 9KT with 115,000 miles on it.
Scenario: I had a feeling this was the problem. the car was just moved here from Chicago, and when they dropped it off it took a jump to start it. I drove it for a little while, parked it, and yesterday it took another jump to start it. Unfortunately, the third time, a jump was not enough. It's a brand new batttery, and the alternator (which was replaced at 72K-7 years ago), is blown.
The problem is this happened on a late Saturday afternoon in northern New Jersey, and I had ZERO idea where to take the car. So it's currently at an Elmwood Park mechanic who is trying to get a 115 volt replacement alternator today.
Turns out this shop does a lot of SAAB work, and while this isn't an ideal circumstance, I'm going with them for the time being. At this point I don't have a written estimate because the guy said the part cost will depend on which supplier he gets it from. He's spent about an hour to 90 minutes on it so far and says it will take another hour to install.
thanks for the replies.
