the turbos probably one of the last things to worry about.
common 9000 faults tend to be:

engine mounts
TCS
timing chain
heater core/blower motor
SRS
DI

i bought a talladega red 92 9000T 5-spd with a 122K in nov of 2000 for a pretty good price.

here are the list of things i've had to do since i bought the car:
120K service $40
tires
rear calipers $180
exhaust $150
clutch $500
heater core $99
head gasket $80
timing chain (water pump done since it was out) $400
TCS throttle body/check valve $1098

still to do:
SRS (light's been on since i bought the car, it's either the harness or the computer- i think it's the computer)

lower mounts (i think) the shifter moves a bit in gear and haven't been able to determine whether it's normal or because the lower hydraulic mounts need replacing

car's been running hot lately- recently did a head gasket, put a new thermostat and switch to synthetic so i need to figure out what's wrong...

the stock cd player has started to act up

i have been fortunate to have access to an ind saab garage and pretty DIYed everything except the TCS which cr*pped out on me while i was traveling. all the prices listed (except the TCS) is for parts which i generally paid cost for. the car itself is super clean but as you can see maintenance has not been inexpensive. unparallelled in its combination of luxury, utility and performance. i enjoy the car very much and have put over 25K miles on it since i bought it. if i had to have paid a mechanic to do all the neccessary maintenance, it's 50/50 whether i would have bought this car especially after being hammered on the TCS thing which if you look for a 91 you can avoid.

s-mail me if you need more info. good luck.
