flexplate replaced and...

all with trans seems OK. The flexplate broke on two of the three converter mounts, as a matter of fact the pieces fell out the bottom when unbolted. All bolts--trans, torque converter to flex plate, flex plate to crank--were all tight. They took considerable torque to remove. It's hard to say about the torque on the flexplate to converter bolts because of the restricted access.
It gave no indication of its imminent demise. No vibrations, no obvious sounds, no hard starting, until the moment it failed.
After putting it all back together it had a wierd episode of various electrical maladies. The EDU shift quadrant was lit up like it was in all gears at once. This cleared up after 3rd start-up. The front passenger window would not operate but the drivers side did-I think they're both on the same fuse. This too cleared up. I needed the front windows down in order to set the sensitivity of the (old ECU) alarm.
During the initial test drive the voltage went up to 16.9, I turned on the headlights and it started to come down. The display also showed brake lights were burned out when I stepped on the brakes, this cleared up in a few minutes.
I'm happy to say that all seems normal but I plan on keeping an eye on the voltage. Is it possible that some of the Bosch electrical components are made by Lucas?
