30 ma is about right with the car off. There's about 10 ma for the clock, and another 10 ma for the stereo and central locking. If you look at the front left of the engine compartment, you'll find another button on the radiator cross-piece that detects if the hood is closed (on some cars) - press this button, and I bet your 30 ma drops down to about 20.
30 ma drain won't kill a battery. Here are a few things to try-
Pull the battery clamps off the battery and clean the posts and clamps with some fine sandpaper or Scotchbrite. A poor connection can show up in some strange ways.
Next, clean the outside of the battery with a solution of water and some baking soda. When the battery outgasses, some acid gasses out, too. This lands on the case of the battery, and combines with moisture and dirt to form a conductor. The battery literally discharges itself through a short on the case.
And as others have said, it's possible that it's a defective battery. I put a new battery into my '92 last October. Everything was fine for a while, but then the battery would be dead occasionally. It worked out that if I used the car every other day, it would start up fine, but if I went two days, it was dead. The strange part was that if I stuck a charger on, it only took 5 or 10 minutes with the charger for the car to start fine.
I did checks, and decided to clean the battery. When I pulled the battery out to clean it, I noticed it was leaking slightly. Defective battery. I brought it back to the store, got it replaced under warranty, and everything is fine.
Good luck!
