To remove the ashtray/lighter assembly:
~ disconnect battery (pure safety thing).
~ remove ashtray.
~ reach in where the ashtray was and pop out ACC unit.
~ unplug ACC unit, large connector first, then ground (seperate black wire)
~ using a small screwdriver, through the ACC slot, press in tabs at top of lighter assembly on each side. Assembly should slide out.
~ unplug lighter and lighter light. Retrieve bulb assembly, as it fits in other places.
~ push connectors back behind radio unit so they are out of the way.

To install cupholder:
~ clean it well before you install it.
~ cut off plastic tab on the bottom face (or as much as you can anyway)
~ insert cupholder into slot, carefully fitting remainder of plastic tab over slot frame.
~ push it in until it locks into place.
~ reinstall ACC unit, ground wire first, then main connector.
~ reconnect battery. Reset clock, EDU, radio code.

I did not move the stereo, so I can't comment on that. I was going to, but it looked more complicated than it was worth.

On mine, the right side went in about 1/4" father than the left, but it secured itself very nicely. It will now be somewhat more difficult to remove the ACC head, because the ashtray is gone. To remove the cupholder in future, use your radio removal tool.

I LOVE my cupholder.
