May I answer for Ari, seems we are on somewhat of the same wavelength. What you are describing sounds like a weak battery or one that is being drained excessively when the car is standing. To test for a weak battery, turn the key to 'on' but not start the engine. Do this after the car has not been driven for a couple hours. Select battery voltage on the EDU. Remember the voltage, then turn on the headlights. Watch the voltage, if it drops more than .5 volt in a minuite the battery is weak. Anything less than 11 volts is not good. A good battery will pass this test with the head lights, brake lights, and heater fan on.
An automotive battery is injured anytime it is run down. After being run down a few times they typically are history. 3 1/2 years is not uncommon for a battery, especially some of the poorer types.
For a battery that will hold up well, select one with the highest reserve capacity you can get. Anything less than 100 minutes is not good, try to get as close to 150 minutes as you can. Cranking amps is a bunch of advertising hype, modern cars with permanent magnet starters do not draw more than a few hundred amps even on cold starts. Auto zone has a type 34 battery that meets this criteria and it is externally nearly identitical to the original Saab battery in my 97 9000.
