The good news is you have gotten to have intimate knowledge of many of the engine components! But just because you have a new widget don't be bashful in suspecting it or its surrounding neighbors are the culprits. JJB and Sully have probably redirected you back at the most likely problem. Bench the pump and eyeball it for crud in the intakes. You need to measure pressure of output. My first Saab was my first ele. fuel pump so I put a 0-50 psi guage with no restrictor pinhole plates to buffer pressure pulses on it (74 3dr 99) and it saved me as it died 12 miles out of some town in N. Mexico. Just had filled up there and hit the road, died like a rock try'n to fly and I looked down at the guage as it was bleeding down the pressure. Towed back to town and the guy let me use his shade tree to work on it on that Sunday. Lost a tank of gas in the drain down but I got the pump fixed in an hour by putting the hose that slipped off of a pipe nipple due to slightly loosened clamp. Gauges are good. Good hunting.
