I would sell now, put the money into a CD (certificate of deposit, not a
compact disk) or some other secure interest bearing note, and forget about
it for the next two years. Chances are, the vehicle will not retain its'
value over the next few years - that's just the nature of the Saab beast.
Storing it properly, will not hurt the engine. There may be a few rubber
bushings or what-not that may tend to dry out (probably helped your S-belt
to deteriorate), but it'd be nice if was started occasionally, or if a
trickle charge was put on the battery once in a while - all in all, a hassle.
Even though it has low mileage, it will still depreciate over the next two
years. If you sell now, you probably won't get much more than any other
'93 with less than 80k miles. You'll probably sell it faster, but I doubt
that you'd sell it for that much more money than any other clean, well
cared-for '93. Here in the Northeast (US), Saabs are a dime a dozen.
Just this weekend I noticed a low-mileage (90k) '96 Aero listed for
$9900 (Boston Globe - I wont list the dealer because I consider him/them
scoundrels, dirty-dogs!). If it were me, I'd start asking around $8500 -
doesn't sound like much when one considers how much that thing cost brand
new!
