Running Rough for First Five Minutes

My 96 9000CS (112K miles)runs very rough when I first start it and the Check Engine Light flashes On and Off. After about 5 minutes it feels as though it suddenly changes and runs fine (limp mode?). The Check Engine light stays on solid for a few days. This generally happens in about 45 degree weather or above. Also seems to happen in colder, wet weather. All winter this was not big problem, but as warmer days are starting, the problem is beginning to occur more often. First happened at the end of last summer. Took it to Saab, but by then the check engine message went away. They guessed it may be number one cylinder or ECU failing. I would like to think that it is the O2 sensor. Any ideas?
