Welcome to the 9000 community. With a new block, you should be set, enginewise, for a long while. Being the next to last year that
the 9000 was produced, you'll have one of the more refined 9000's. And if the automatic transmission has regular fluid changes (every
year or 12k miles) and is driven conscientiously (no full throttle at
any upshift OR downshift - get a feel for when these points occur
and ease up on the gas when they do), then it will be less likely to
ever give you any more problems than a standard will.
That's not a bad price, either. Suggestions: use only synthetic
motor oil, see if you can negotiate a change to synthetic ATF for
the automatic before the sale, have the brake fluid completely
drained and refilled, and make sure the coolant system gets
new fluid every other year with a new thermostat......good luck!
