When I bought my Isuzu, I was concerned with their reports about SUV rollovers. A little research revealed that their whole expose of Troopers rolling over was pure bullshit (or, at least, poor science). They went as far as to demand that all '95-96 Troopers be recalled. All this when the Trooper HAS NOT had a higher than average incidence of rollovers in real life.
The fact that they wrote about the 9000 having the ignition key between the seat was irresponsible journalism - they've obviously never seen the inside of one. And if they can make a simple mistake like that on the description, what kind of mistakes are they making compiling the reliability ratings. Regardless, any responsible magazine would publish a correction. Shame on them.
I find epinions.com and similar sites to be a good resource for making purchasing decisions (for anyone who'd like to cancel their subscription to Consumer Reports).
