Hello Kevin,

Here's the list of everyting I replaced when I did this job in January:

Timing chain, T.C. tensioner, T.C. left + right guide rails, Balance chain, B.C. tensioner, B.C. upper + side guide rails. All gaskets (head, intake, exhaust, valve cover -- these come in a kit). Crankshaft pulley/oil pump seal, oil pump o-ring, thermostat, new spark plugs. Total: about $400.

I bought all the parts at http://www.eeuroparts.com (free shipping!!!). They have the cheapest prices for everyting, especially the head gasket kit, and it is the same "Elring" kit that Saab uses. However, I had to CALL because some of the parts are not listed online. You can go to the site to get the number.

People keep sending me emails asking about this so I have a pre-written email that I continuously update that includes basically all the advice I have to offer that would not be covered by the Haynes manual. Feel free to email me if you're interested.
