Replacing the front brake pads is pretty straightforward - remove the old, put in the new. As usual, inspect the area for problems - rips in the caliper rubber boot, frayed brake hose. If you're in there, don't forget to give the CV joint boots a good look-over. If the rotor looks worn, measure it for minimum thickness (the minimum value doesn't come directly to mind, but it's in the Haynes manual, and may be in the owner's manual, along with being stamped on the rotor.
I highly recommend getting the 9000 Haynes manual. It's for the UK version car, but it's close enough, and does a fine job on brake work.
I like greasing the pins with some high temperature grease - the caliper slides on those pins, and binding is not a good thing.
The ABS sensors are installed in the hub, not in the caliper. Unless you have a reason to worry about them, I wouldn't go digging for them. As to bleeding the brakes, the fluid should be FLUSHED every two years, three at most. If you don't have records showing the last time the brake fluid was flushed, assume that the car is overdue. But I don't bleed the system as a regular part of a brake job - only as part of a flush, or if the system has been otherwise opened.
As to what pads to use, many folks will have lots of opinions on that. I usually stick with the stock OEM pads. I'm really boring that way.
Good luck!
