Gotta watch that enter key, Mine has steam seep out of the grill sometimes if there is a little rain and I stop at a signal the moisture on the radiator cooks off as the water is at 250°F.
Today's coolant systems run at just less than 1 atmosphere of pressure which increases the boiling point of the coolant to be more effecient. This pressure occurs from the boiling of the water which produces steam and this raises the pressure of the coolant loop. As an equilibrium of pressure/temp is reached the system is not boiling as the pump is running the liquid thru the radiator so it loses heat energy and then travels into the passages to remove heat from the walls of the castings. The pump only circulates the liquid, but like mine two months ago if you lose power steering and the alt light is one find the side of the road fast and shut it down. I tossed the belt due to a bad idler bearing and with out the pump turning the water will start to hit red in a few seconds. I was lucky I only cooked the thermostat into not closing all the way when cool.
