Syncho ring costs around $30. Any Saab dealer would be able to get them. I took my trans out and took it to the local dealer. They installed the 2nd gear synchro ring, reassembled the trans and I put it back in after replacing all the clutch stuff. It popped out of 2nd gear when negatively loaded (downshifts). So I removed it again, took it back and they threw another $500 in parts at it (at my expense). Put it in again, same deal. I took the car to them and told them to fix it. Chances are, if you try to get your $30 synchro replaced, it will end up costing you the price of a rebuilt trans (around $1500). If they just R&R the trans and replace only the synchro, I think it's around $800. Assuming they get it right, that is ...
