the switched lead that tells the SCC that the ignition is on is pin 6 of the first connector (the one that was originally on the lower part of the clock). That switched lead does not appear on the new 8 pin plug nor the original 3 pin clock plug. What is on the new 8 pin plug is the speedometer pulse on pin 8, ground on pin 2, battery (i.e., on all the time) on pin 1 and outdoor temperature (not used by the SCC) on pin 6. I believe that the SCC has only 3 pins on the back that plug into that second plug--pin 1 battery, pin 2 ground, and pin 8 speed signal.
The first thing to check is look for a switched voltage (ignition on) on pin 6 on the first 8 pin plug (the one originally on the lower part of the clock). If it's not there, then that's your problem. If it is there, then something is open in the SCC. Most likely a solder joint if all the functions work when the INFO button is held down. I'm not sure how to get it appart (mine's in my dash), but it is usually a tab arrangement.
