i agree that it is the strut? i had this prob on my 97 aero i had one strut go then the other side............it took a while to solve but the struts had blown ( shine a torch up under the wheel arch and look into the spring for any trace of oil??? also do the test by pressing down on the wing and watch it regain position with not much bounce) i had the two struts replaced also it put the tracking out and i had the bushes replaced at the same time??? all was well then they both blew again within 3k miles as this work was carried out by saab themselve they had to foot the bill??
it all in the end resulted in worn bump stops (which they overlooked) so be careful blown struts cause knock on effects...........
