The Griffen was a special options package in '92 - a full up 9000CD with every goodie including a wood dash insert and alledgedly better treatment when you came in for service. All came with automatics. Other than the expensive self-leveling rear shocks, it's mechanically a 9000T.
If you're going to go through the effort of installing a tranny, you might as well get a good one. Eriksson Industries sells very good rebuilt transmissions. They're located in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, which is right on 95, about mid-way into the state. They also ship.
Seeing as the automatic tranny is a weak spot for the 9000, I would avoid used transmissions unless you knew they had been rebuilt recently. Otherwise, you might go through the effort of pulling your old one and installing another dead one. You might have found a junker that was junked precisely because it had a bad tranny and the bill would be too high to fix.
