For optics and a motor, including labor, $100 is excellent, if true. Any mobile CD player that has 8 years on it and is just now starting to show problems, was pretty well built! That, or it was hardly ever used, or somehow, the interior of the car was kept unusually clean. Hmm, maybe the fact that I drive around with all the windows open whenever weather permits, has something to do with a bit shorter life on my CD players... I wouldn't doubt it, with all the dust that accumulates rapidly inside.
Sorry I don't have any info on contacting Clarion. If you can find the model number on the unit, you may be able to check part pricing at Pacific Coast Parts however, in their part number search.
