Step 1 - is your AC working? Open the hood and look at the AC compressor pulley. The outside turns when the belt turns, but the inside part runs only when the AC clutch pulls in. Start the car, set the ACC to LO, and look at the AC pulley. 10 or 15 seconds after starting the car, the clutch should pull in and the center part of the pulley spin. It's normal for it to pull in for a bit, then drop out for a while, then pull in.
If it doesn't pull in, then there is a problem with the AC system. It could be the system is low on refrigerant, a bad switch or a bad relay. Or the ACC isn't telling it to turn on.
If the AC compressor turns, give it a bit, then grab the two hoses from the compressor. One should be cold, the other hot. If not, there is still a problem with the AC. If all's well there, then you know the AC is working right.
If it continues to blow hot air even though the AC is running, then most likely the problem lies with the air mixer flap. The ACC controls temp by mixing hot air from the heater core with cold air from outside/AC. The flap has an arm run by a servo, and sometimes the wire falls off the arm, or the arm breaks.
Check back through posts by searching the archives on "No Heat", and look for information on the mixer flap arm.
It would help to tell what year your car is. Different ACC systems, different (slightly) access to the mixer arm flap.
Good luck!
