Yes, they are attached using the same kind of snaps... Posted by Gene N [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Those back panels where the little reading light sits.., 9000t driver, Wed, 10 Apr 2002 01:09:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
that the doors use. I broke a few pulling it out. The panel comes off much easier if you take out the packing/speaker shelf supports. The rear reading lights pop out, but the seat belt slot is a little harder. Unbolt the seat belt at the seat end. Carefully pry the sheet metal fasteners off the plastic tabs on the back of the plastic slot that is attached to the panel. (Put a small screwdriver inside the fastener and remove the tension on the tabs, otherwise you will break the plastic pin.) Remove the plastic slot, turn it sideways and feed it through the panel. Recover the panel with headliner material (foam backed). Do a search on headliner for tips on glue and application techniques. When you put the sheet metal fasteners back on the plastic tabs, flatten the metal first with pliers.
If you are real ambitious, you could do the headliner, too. Check Quasi's site for a description of how to do it. (The description is for a 900, but the fundamentals are the same.)
