I bought the Race-Technology AP22 performance meter. It's an nice piece of equipment (see their web site). Of course I ran the std ECU back to back with the Chipcenter stage 1 I have in my -94 CSE 2.3FPT manual. I ran 40-110 km/h second gear runs, several with each ECU and the results were very consistent.
Both ECUs peak at around 5300 rpm (100km/h), the stock giving 123 kW and the CC stg 1 giving 143 kW at the wheels. Peak torque is 343 Nm @ 3200 rpm for the CC and 297 Nm @ 2700 rpm.
The turbo lag affects the peak torque rpm level alot, especially when running in second gear. It takes a while for the turbo to spool up.
The car is otherwise stock except for the modified air box with K&N filter and Simons 2,5" cat back.
What was interesting to note is that the CC ECU falls totally on it's face at speeds over 5500 rpm giving exactly as much torque as the stock. This is only evidence of the T25 being too small.... or running out of fuelling..?
BTW, I got the smoothest results running with 0,9mm plug gaps ! With 1.0 mm the power curve was horizontal above 4500 rpms, loosing around 7kW or so!
I might have posted all this on the performance board, but I sorta feel more like an ordinary "tonner" than a true speed freak. My apologies if anyone feels offended..
Regards from sunny Finland.
Tapani
PS Ambient temp was around 14-16 C during all runs.
