I found them very noisy – I mean really very noisy – and that made them feel rough even if they weren't. They also wore out in less than 10,000 miles. I drive an automatic but generally my front pads last two or three times that distance. Finally, I expected them to produce no dust (foolish perhaps) but they were as bad as anything else. I now use standard pads and like them, but am open to persuasion to try something else, if only because I can't stop messing with things.
