Thanks for the insight, however I tried the hose on the condenser, and nothing happened. I'd have thought that if the high side pressure was causing a lockout it would clear itself after a few mins of being off and come back on again, yes or no.
Also tried knocking the clutch with a hammer also nothing happened. How hard do need to knock it?.
But whilst the engine is running and the A/C is on the clutch plate face is highly magnetised (the hammer stuck to it), on turning the ignition off the magnetism disappears. This would indicate to me that the clutch is trying to pull in but something is stopping it , would this assumption be correct ?
The pressures you quote for high side are way lower than my readings, also you mention a fan in front of the condenser that stays on whilst the compressor is on, I have no such fan, only a two speed cooling fan on the inside of the Radiator/Condenser assembly, the low speed fan setting seems to be switched with pressure as per my starting post.
