I fought this clutch battle last summer. In the long run here's what's going on:

Your clutch is hydraulically actuated. You've got a funny clutch feeling because there's EITHER a leak in the system (clutch slave or hoses to and from) or else there's air bubbles in the system (master cylinder has the propensity to collect air bubbles). This is what you should do:

Pressure bleed the clutch hydraulic system. I just built a pressure bleeder to do this out of a garden sprayer, a pressure fitting, a GM master clyinder cap, an O-ring, and some RTV sealant. It cost less than $25 and is WAY more effective than the stupid bicycle tire method. Click on "more from nt moore" to find the old post.

If this doesn't work make an observation, Is there clutch fluid leaking from the bottom of my car? If so you probably need a new clutch slave cylinder. These are relatively inexpensive but you'll need to take apart most of the driver's side of the engine to get at the part. Its inside the transmission bell housing. If no fluid seems to be leaking then you might have a bad master cylinder. these are really easy to get at and cost ~$100 (though you can rebuild them for $20).

In either case with your car's mileage you should consider: new clutch disc, new pressure plate, new slave cylinder, new master cylinder. This is expensive, but if you replace all of these things you won't have to worry about your clutch anymore. I've heard this costs ~1000 for a mechanic to do but I did it myself (though I left the old disc and pressure plate - a mistake I now regret... it was my second car repair ever and took me 3 months to finish - most people learn faster than me though)
