I went out to the college and attempted to start the car. What I noticed right away was a strong odor of gasoline after cranking it over for about 5 seconds. I investigated and could see gas running down the side of the turbo. I pulled out the fuel pump fuse and cranked again. The car started and ran though it stumbled terribly. Raw gas was coming out of the tailpipe. I saw no need to continue and shut it down before it went up in flames. Anyone seen this before. I am guessing I have a failed fuel pump regulator. I am so certain that I am probably wrong. My only other guess would be a stuck injector but I wouldn't suspect that much fuel could get through one stuck injector. The car is an 88 9000 turbo. Anyone agree or have other opinions as to what it might be. I welcome any and all suggestions except NO I WILL NOT LIGHT A MATCH TO IT. Actually I love the car. This is just one of the trials and tribulations that come with an older car.
